Eight years of enterprise ecommerce led to one conclusion.
I studied software engineering and spent years working inside some of Denmark's best-known enterprises — solving backend and integration problems on commerce systems that processed millions of euros in daily transaction volume. The technical complexity was real. The gap between what businesses needed and what most consultancies delivered was also real.
What I kept seeing was capable ecommerce teams stuck between options that didn't serve them. Large agencies with account managers and junior execution. Solo freelancers who couldn't cover the full stack. Neither model produces the results that complex ecommerce actually requires.
VelaCommerce was founded on a simple premise: that senior-level ecommerce engineering, delivered with direct accountability and no overhead, produces materially better outcomes. Outside work, I stay active — strength training, team sports, and hiking when I'm travelling beyond Denmark. I read a lot, I travel whenever I can, and I'm drawn to adrenaline: skydiving is a favourite. My taste in music runs from rock to jazz and most things in between — which probably says something about how I think about problem-solving.
