eCommerce Solutions Architect
Bridge the gap between client business goals and technical execution. You will lead platform selection workshops, architecture reviews, and replatforming programmes for clients with complex requirements.
About the role
You sit at the intersection of strategy and engineering. You will lead the technical presales process, run discovery workshops, produce architecture proposals, and own the technical relationship with enterprise clients throughout delivery. You need enough engineering depth to earn the trust of CTOs, and enough business acumen to earn the trust of CEOs. This is a client-facing, highly autonomous role with a direct impact on Vela's commercial performance.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in eCommerce consulting, solutions architecture, or senior technical delivery
- Deep knowledge of at least 2 major commerce platforms (Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, SFCC, CommerceLayer, etc.)
- Experience scoping, pricing, and presenting large-scale technical projects
- Comfort presenting at C-suite and board level
- Understanding of ERP, PIM, OMS, and WMS integrations in commerce contexts
- Strong commercial awareness — you understand how technical decisions affect project profitability
Nice to have
- +Experience with composable / MACH architecture
- +Exposure to international commerce (multi-currency, multi-locale, compliance)
- +Background in enterprise software sales or technical presales
